Tasmania Parks opens Overland Track permits in early July each year. Only 34 walkers start per day and peak dates sell out in minutes. Get on the list and we'll give you a heads-up before bookings open.

The Overland Track is a 65km trek from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair, typically completed in 5–6 days. Tasmania Parks limits departures to 34 independent walkers per day during the October–May booking season, and permits ($285/person) sell out quickly for peak months. Six public huts are available on a first-come basis, but carrying a tent is mandatory. Over 9,000 walkers complete the track each year.
