The Abel Tasman Coast Track is a 60km walk along golden beaches, clear turquoise water, and coastal forest at the top of the South Island. It's one of the most accessible Great Walks — you can do it in sections using water taxis — but the huts and campsites along the track still sell out fast for peak summer. DOC hut bookings had 95% occupancy last season.
