Lucky Bay is famous for kangaroos lounging on what's been measured as some of the whitest sand in Australia. The campground has around 56 unpowered sites about an hour east of Esperance, and bookings open 180 days in advance. Sites are unallocated — you pick on arrival — but getting a booking at all during school holidays and summer is the hard part.
